In 2011 the Kennett Square Mushroom Festival celebrates its 26th year!  Who would have imagined this small town festival promoting locally grown mushrooms would turn into a nationally-recognized festival drawing people from all over the country and beyond? It is with the support of our community, the dedication of our volunteers, and the support of our sponsors that we owe our success. We are looking forward to another amazing festival on September 10 and 11.  With plans for more entertainment, celebrity chefs, vendors and rides, the 26th Annual Mushroom Festival will be sure to draw the public’s attention to the streets of Kennett Square Borough once again.

Festival Facts

  • Festival attendance has grown to over 100,000 visitors in the past few years!
  • The Mushroom Festival is advertised on a local, regional and national level.
  • The Mushroom Festival has partnered with 6abc Philadelphia to provide extended coverage and promotion of the festival. This year we welcome 6abc’s Alicia Vitarelli as our Master of Ceremony.

Each year the Mushroom Festival impacts the community in a positive way through its grant program. Based on the success of our 2010 Festival, we awarded nearly $70,000 in grants to 31 non-profit organizations throughout the region. Mushroom Festival grants give these organizations the funds desperately needed to provides their services in our community from the very young through our elderly population. The Grant Program is made possible through the generosity and support of our sponsors.

It is important to remember that the Mushroom Festival is a volunteer-run organization.  All of the proceeds from each festival are donated back to the community.  To date, the Mushroom Festival has given over $423,000 back to our community.  This would not be possible without the help of our wonderful sponsors.
